Ajay has drawn on his research findings for compensated speaking and consulting engagements. He is a co-author of Prediction Machines and Power and Prediction, both on the economics of artificial intelligence, for which he receives royalties. He also founded the Creative Destruction Lab, a not-for-profit program supporting science-based, seed-stage companies. He is also a co-founder of NEXT Canada, a not-for-profit program to support the development of Canadian founders. Additionally, he collaborates with Google on economics research.

He holds equity interests in several technology companies as part of a diversified portfolio. He is a co-founder of Intrepid Growth Partners and Sanctuary AI.
